INISFREE AFGHANS

My love and fascination with the Afghan Hound started when i first saw one in 1975. This respect and fascination continues to this day. I have been owned by an Afghan Hound since 1980 and have become ever more involved as time has gone by. I have exhibited and bred under the pre-fix Inisfree Afghans and in a limited breeding program have produced Specialty and Group winners, and some of our dogs have been titled in Lure Coursing, CAT, Fast CAT, Agility, Rally and Obedience. In a very select and limited breeding program, I have owned and / or bred nearly 40 Champions. Because I have kept a very select and limited breeding program, I know where every adult and puppy I have ever placed is and that they are loved and well kept.

Continuing to be active as an exhibitor owner handler and breeder is important because I am in touch with the here and now of dog shows. I am a licensed AKC Judge and know the responsibilities of preserving the ancient breed we are her to protect and maintain.

I became a member of the AHCA in 2000. I have been an active member of the Greater Twin Cities Afghan Hound Club since 1989 and have held most positions in the Club. I have belonged to the Chicago Regional Club in the past and have been on the Board of an All-Breed Club - the Minnetonka Kennel Club. I know very well the hard work and dedication it takes to run a club and put on a dog show. Being a good team player is very important and being positive and supportive and getting along well with others makes for a much more successfl show and it's a lot more fun.

We do all the health testing prior to breeding. Brucellosis, hips, elbows, cerf, thyroid, cardiac. Our puppies are wormed, microchipped, and their puppy shots are started and their dewclaws are removed. They are well socialized and are healthy and happy.

I am on the Afghan Hound Club of America Board of Directors since 2017. I am the Canine Health Chair for the AHCA.

Deep in my heart and mind are Rajah, Alex, Francis, Panther, Angel, Roux, Sean, Benae', Laci, Lauren, Lizzy, Sade', Willow, Jade, Trae' - and many more. Too many to mention but loved in my heart always.
